Today a cultural programme, with a visit to Pierrefonds castle. The castle was bought by Napoleon in 1813 for 2,700 francs. This was the period of Romanticism, when purposeless walking was invented, while plans for the steam locomotive were on the drawing boards. The first attempt to make a ('faulty') locomotive dates back to 1804 in England. The first train ran in Belgium in 1835, in France in 1837. Renovation of the castle was given the green light in 1857 by Napoleon III, to stop works in 1885. Today the castle is being renovated again.

Pour la rénovation du château, le feu vert a été donné en 1857 par Napoléon III pour arrêter les travaux en 1885. Aujourd'hui, le château est à nouveau en cours de rénovation.

De eerste poging om een (gebrekkige) locomotief te maken dateert van 1804 in Engeland. De eerste trein reed in België in 1835, in 1837 in Frankrijk. Voor de renovatie van het kasteel werd groen licht gegeven in 1857 door Napoleon III om te stoppen met de werken in 1885. Vandaag is men het kasteel terug aan het renoveren.
